UK Education. Cricket. Your Child’s Future.

Choosing a UK independent or boarding school is a major decision. CRICED helps families in Pakistan understand their options and identify schools that fit their child’s academic ambitions, cricket development, personality and family requirements.

We do not hand out the same generic list of schools to every family. Each conversation starts with your child — and the shortlist follows from that.

Fees & scholarships

What It Costs — and How to Get Support

Typical annual costs vary by school, but boarding at leading UK independent schools can commonly be £30,000–£50,000+ per year including boarding. Day places cost less, and schools also charge extras such as registration and deposit fees, trips and guardianship.

For families in Pakistan, that is broadly PKR 9 million to PKR 18 million a year at current exchange rates, plus flights, guardianship and one-off registration and deposit fees. We work through indicative totals in rupees before you shortlist.

Scholarships

Many schools award academic, sport, music or all-rounder scholarships. For cricket, these are usually assessed by video, references and performance records from Pakistan. We flag which of your shortlisted schools offer them and what they typically cover.

Entry support

We guide you through registration, UKiset or school entrance assessments, online interviews, offers, acceptance deposits, CAS for the Child Student visa, and setting up a UK-based guardian for boarders under 18.

From Pakistan's School System to a UK Boarding School

Pakistani pupils following Cambridge O Level or the national curriculum move into UK independent schools every year. The key is choosing the right entry point and preparing for the assessments schools use.

O Level, Matric & UK entry points

Cambridge O Levels map closely to GCSEs, making Year 9 (13+) and Sixth Form (16+) the most common entry points. Some pupils also join at Year 7 (11+) for an earlier start in the British system.

  • Year 7 (11+) for prep-style entry
  • Year 9 (13+) ahead of GCSEs
  • Sixth Form (16+) for A Levels or IB

Cricket pathways from Pakistan

Pakistan has a deep cricket culture. Young players from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad often find that UK schools add structure — indoor training through winter, weekly fixtures, and links to county cricket.

  • Year-round coaching programmes
  • Competitive school and club fixtures
  • Pathways into county age-group cricket

UKiset, entrance tests & interviews

Most UK senior schools set an online assessment in English and Mathematics, and many use UKiset. Interviews are held online for families in Pakistan, so no UK travel is needed before an offer.

  • UKiset or school-specific testing
  • English, maths and reasoning papers
  • Online interviews from Pakistan

Fees, Scholarships & Travel from Pakistan

We work through the full cost picture with families in Pakistan, including the parts schools do not always highlight in their prospectus.

Total cost in Pakistani Rupees

Boarding fees of £25,000–£50,000+ convert to roughly PKR 9 million–PKR 18 million a year at current rates. Extras include registration fees, acceptance deposits, flights, guardianship, uniform and school trips.

Scholarships & bursaries

Schools award academic, cricket, music and all-rounder scholarships. Cricket scholarships are usually assessed by video, school or club references, and a record of performances in Pakistan.

  • Typically a percentage of the annual fee
  • Video evidence and references carry weight
  • Availability varies widely by school

Visa, guardian & travel from Pakistan

After a place is confirmed, the school issues a CAS for a Child Student visa. Boarders under 18 need a UK-based guardian, and direct flights from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to Heathrow or Manchester are available.

  • Child Student visa with school CAS
  • UK guardian required for under-18 boarders
  • Heathrow and Manchester are common arrivals

Why Consider a UK School?

Outstanding education

UK independent schools offer small class sizes, specialist subject teaching and well-established GCSE, A Level and IB pathways, with structured support for university applications in the UK and beyond.

Many UK schools run established cricket programmes with qualified coaches, indoor and outdoor facilities, and a full fixture calendar through the summer term, alongside links to county and club cricket.

Personal development

Boarding builds independence, routine and confidence. Beyond the classroom, pupils take part in music, drama, service and a wide range of sports as part of everyday school life.

International experience

Pupils live and learn alongside classmates from across the UK and around the world, gaining fluency in a British academic environment that many families value long after school.

What families say

Rohan & Priya M.

Arjun S.

Lyhte at King's College

Darc, brother of a King's College Taunton pupil
