Advising on the UK's best cricket & education options

For Pakistani families

UK Boarding Schools with Cricket for Pakistani Families

For parents in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi seeking a British academic education and a professional cricket environment for their son or daughter.

What families in Pakistan need to know

Academic fit

Many Pakistani applicants already sit Cambridge O and A Levels, which map directly onto UK GCSE and Sixth Form entry and make transition unusually smooth. Matric and FSc students are also welcome; we help present those grades clearly.

Cricket background

We regularly see players from regional academies, club cricket and school first XIs. Fast bowlers and spinners with genuine control attract strong interest from UK schools.

Timing your application

With an academic year ending in the spring and UK entry in September, most families start planning a full year ahead. Sixth Form (16+) entry is the most common route from Pakistan.

Travel and access

Flights from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad connect to Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham, with direct and one-stop options through the Gulf.

Boys and girls, 11 to 18

Criced works with sons and daughters alike. Girls' cricket in UK independent schools has grown faster than any other sport, with dedicated coaching, fixtures and pathways into the professional women's game.

The words UK schools use — and what they mean at home

O Level / A Level
Cambridge O Levels map directly onto UK GCSEs, and A Levels are identical — the smoothest transfer of any qualification.
Matric / FSc
Accepted too. Schools read Matric alongside age and usually place pupils in Year 10 or Year 11.
Boarding house
A supervised pastoral home within the school — housemaster or housemistress, matron, tutors and prep each evening.

What it costs, in pounds and in local terms

UK fees are quoted in pounds sterling and billed termly, three terms a year. The rupee figures below are indicative only — the State Bank rate on the day of transfer, bank charges and your remittance limits determine the real cost.

Indicative UK boarding school costs for families in Pakistan
CostSterlingIndicative local
Full boarding, per term£13,000 – £19,000approx. PKR 48 – 71 lakh
Full boarding, per year£39,000 – £57,000approx. PKR 1.45 – 2.1 crore
UK guardianship, per year£1,500 – £3,500approx. PKR 5.6 – 13 lakh
Flights, insurance, uniform, per year£3,000 – £5,000approx. PKR 11 – 19 lakh

Sport, all-rounder and academic awards commonly cut 10–50% from fees, and means-tested bursaries can reduce them further for the right pupil. Education remittances from Pakistan are made through a commercial bank under State Bank rules, normally against the school's fee invoice and the CAS or offer letter — start the bank paperwork early, as approval can take several weeks.

Visa and UK guardianship for Pakistani families

  • Your child needs a Child Student visa, sponsored by the school through a CAS once the place is confirmed.
  • A TB test certificate from an IOM-approved clinic in Pakistan is mandatory before applying.
  • Biometrics and document submission are handled at Gerry's / VFS centres in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan and Sialkot.
  • Financial evidence must show fees and maintenance held for the required period — your bank statements need to match the school's invoice exactly.
  • A UK-based guardian is required for every boarder under 18. Use an AEGIS-accredited organisation; we help you choose and brief them.
  • Criced supports you through CAS, documentation and guardianship at no extra charge.

Questions from Pakistani families

Do UK schools accept Pakistani O and A Level students?

Yes. Cambridge O and A Levels are well understood by UK admissions teams and are among the easiest qualifications to transfer, particularly for 16+ Sixth Form entry.

Is a UK guardian required for a Pakistani student?

Almost always. UK schools require a UK-based guardian for overseas boarders under 18, covering exeat weekends and emergencies. We help families arrange this.

What visa does my child need?

A Child Student visa, sponsored by the school through a CAS once a place is confirmed. The school and Criced guide you through documentation and financial evidence.
