UK Education. Cricket. Your Child’s Future.

Choosing a UK independent or boarding school is a major decision. CRICED helps families in India understand their options and identify schools that fit their child’s academic ambitions, cricket development, personality and family requirements.

We do not hand out the same generic list of schools to every family. Each conversation starts with your child — and the shortlist follows from that.

Fees & scholarships

What It Costs — and How to Get Support

Typical annual costs vary by school, but boarding at leading UK independent schools can commonly be £30,000–£50,000+ per year including boarding. Day places cost less, and schools also charge extras such as registration and deposit fees, trips and guardianship.

For families in India, that is broadly ₹32 lakh to ₹53 lakh a year at current exchange rates, plus flights, guardianship and one-off registration and deposit fees. We work through indicative totals in rupees before you shortlist.

Scholarships

Many schools award academic, sport, music or all-rounder scholarships. For cricket, these are usually assessed by video, references and performance records from India. We flag which of your shortlisted schools offer them and what they typically cover.

Entry support

We guide you through registration, UKiset or school entrance assessments, online interviews, offers, acceptance deposits, CAS for the Child Student visa, and setting up a UK-based guardian for boarders under 18.

Moving from an Indian School to a UK Independent School

Families in India often ask how CBSE, ICSE or IB results translate into the UK system. The good news is that the pathways are well established — and we help you choose the right entry point.

CBSE, ICSE & IB to GCSEs and A Levels

Class 9–10 in India maps closely to the GCSE years, and Class 11–12 lines up with Sixth Form and A Levels (or the IB Diploma). Most Indian pupils enter UK schools at Year 9 (13+) or Sixth Form (16+).

  • Year 7 (11+) for prep-style boarding
  • Year 9 (13+) ahead of GCSEs
  • Sixth Form (16+) for A Levels or IB

Cricket pathways from India

Players from Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru and Hyderabad regularly move into UK school cricket. The step up is not just about facilities — it is about fitting into a full summer fixture list and often linking to county age-group programmes.

  • Schools with ECB-qualified coaches
  • Indoor nets and winter programmes
  • Links to county and club cricket

UKiset, entrance exams & interviews

Most senior UK schools use UKiset or their own English and Mathematics assessments. Interviews are held online, so families in India do not need to travel to the UK before an offer is made.

  • Online testing from home or school
  • English, maths and reasoning focus
  • Interview preparation and mock sessions

Fees, Scholarships & Travel from India

Understanding the full cost in rupees, and where scholarships can help, is usually the first practical question families ask.

Total cost in Indian Rupees

Boarding fees of £30,000–£50,000+ convert to roughly ₹32 lakh–₹53 lakh a year at current rates. On top of that, budget for registration fees, deposits, flights, guardianship, uniform, trips and exam extras.

Cricket & academic scholarships

Schools award academic, sporting, music and all-rounder scholarships. Cricket awards are usually assessed by video, school or club references, and performance records from India.

  • Usually a percentage of fees, rarely 100%
  • Video evidence and references matter
  • Different schools have very different budgets

Travel & UK visa from India

Once a place is confirmed, the school issues a CAS for a Child Student visa. Direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi to Heathrow make the journey straightforward, and we guide families on guardian arrangements for boarders under 18.

  • Child Student visa with CAS from the school
  • UK-based guardian required for under-18 boarders
  • Heathrow is the main arrival airport for most schools

What families say

Rohan & Priya M.
